INGREDIENTS

Main Ingredients

  • 1½ cups rolled oats
  • 3 tbsp Biobali Ceremonial Cacao
  • 10 Medjool dates, pitted
  • 2 tbsp Biobali Almond Butter
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp mini dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseed
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 2–3 tbsp warm water (if needed)

Optional Toppings

  • Mini dark chocolate chips
  • Rolled oats
  • Biobali Ceremonial Cacao powder
  • Cacao nibs

Equipment

  • Food processor
  • Mixing bowl
  • Square container or loaf pan
  • Baking paper
  • Sharp knife

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Prepare the Ingredients. Gather all of the ingredients before you begin. If the Medjool dates are firm, soak them in warm water for about 5 minutes until softened, then drain well and pat dry. Soft dates help create the rich, fudgy texture while naturally sweetening the oat bites.

2. Blend the Chocolate Base. Add the softened dates, Biobali Ceremonial Cacao, Biobali Almond Butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, ground flaxseed, and sea salt to a food processor. Blend continuously for 1–2 minutes until the mixture becomes smooth, thick, and evenly combined. Stop once or twice to scrape down the sides of the bowl so every ingredient is fully incorporated.

3. Fold in the Oats. Add the rolled oats to the chocolate mixture and pulse a few short times until the oats are evenly distributed while still maintaining some texture. Avoid over-processing, as visible oat flakes create a more satisfying bite. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and gently fold in the mini dark chocolate chips using a spatula.

4. Prepare the Pan. Line a small square container or loaf pan with baking paper, leaving a little overhang on the sides to make lifting easier later. Transfer the chocolate oat mixture into the pan and spread it evenly using a spatula or the back of a spoon.

5. Press and Finish the Surface. Firmly press the mixture into an even layer about 2–3 cm thick. The more firmly it is pressed, the better the bars will hold together after chilling. Sprinkle additional rolled oats, mini chocolate chips, cacao nibs, or a light dusting of Biobali Ceremonial Cacao over the top, gently pressing the toppings into the surface for an attractive finish.

6. Chill Until Firm. Cover the pan and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until the mixture feels firm to the touch. For an even denser, fudgier texture, chill for 2 hours or overnight. Proper chilling helps the bites slice cleanly without crumbling.

7. Slice and Serve. Lift the chilled mixture out of the pan using the baking paper. Place it on a cutting board and slice into evenly sized bite-sized cubes using a sharp knife. Wipe the knife clean between cuts for neat edges if desired.

8. Store for Freshness. Serve immediately or store the Chocolate Cacao Oat Bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. They can also be frozen for up to one month—simply thaw for a few minutes before enjoying
